Smaller Projects

Alongside our main initiatives, we run smaller projects that provide additional support to enhance education and improve the well-being of the communities we serve.

Period Poverty

As part of our commitment to supporting education and well-being, we distributed reusable sanitary products to girls at a few local school in near by our projects. Many girls face challenges in accessing these essential items, which can disrupt their education and confidence. By providing reusable sanitary products, we are ensuring that girls can attend school with dignity, stay focused on their studies, and reach their full potential. Not only does this break down barriers to education, but it also offers a sustainable, long-term solution, reducing costs for families and minimizing environmental waste.

New Born Baby Warmers

Generous volunteers in England have been knitting body warmers and hats for the newborn babies supported by Mvono clinic. Many families struggle to afford enough clothing for their little ones, and these handmade items provide much-needed warmth and comfort. Through this initiative, we are helping mothers give their babies a cozy start in life, ensuring they stay warm during their first precious months.

New School Uniform

During a visit to our projects in March 2025, one of our trustees noticed that many of the children's shoes were worn out, and their uniforms were torn or no longer fitted. After reaching out to friends, family and donors for support, we were able to provide new school uniforms, bags, and shoes for those who needed them—plus a few extras to have on hand. This small act made a big difference, ensuring the children could attend school feeling comfortable and confident.

Help after poor harvests

Farming is the main economic activity in rural Kenya but in times of poor harvests, many farmers struggle to afford new seeds for the next planting season. Through TEI, Education Exchange has stepped in to provide seeds to local farmers and families, helping them grow fresh crops to sell and sustain their households. This support not only ensures food security but also strengthens livelihoods in the community. By providing these resources we help farmers rebuild and thrive.

In 2025, Education Exchange has also funded new bunk beds for the children's home, ensuring that each child now has their own bed. Previously, many children had to share, which made it difficult for them to get proper rest. The new bunk beds provide a more comfortable and personal sleeping space, helping to improve their well-being and overall quality of life. Through continuous improvements, like these Education Exchange is making the children’s home a better, safer, and more supportive place to live

New tables and chairs

Education Exchange has recently provided new chairs and tables, creating a more comfortable and practical space for the children. Previously, there weren’t enough suitable places for them to sit and study, making learning and mealtimes more challenging. The new chairs are also smaller, allowing the younger children to sit comfortably. The new furniture gives the children a better space to eat and study together. Education Exchange strives to make ongoing improvements to the children’s home, helping to create a space where they can thrive.

New Backpacks

In our ongoing mission to support education, we also provided school children with brand-new backpacks, ensuring they have the essentials needed for their studies. Many students in Kenya face challenges in accessing basic school supplies, and having a proper backpack allows them to carry their books, stationery, and other necessities comfortably. This small yet impactful initiative helps boost their confidence, motivation, and overall school experience, making learning more accessible and enjoyable. By equipping students with the tools they need, we are investing in their future and encouraging them to pursue their education with pride.

Recycling Cans

In England, we have a recycling initiative where we collect drinks cans and tin cans to raise funds for our projects. Volunteers and community members gather the cans, which are then carefully cleaned and squashed down to save space. One of our dedicated Trustees then takes the cans to a local aluminium dealer, where they are sold for cash. This simple yet effective recycling program helps us generate extra funds, which are then used to support our various initiatives in Kenya, such as providing education, healthcare, and business support to local communities. It's a sustainable way for us to raise money while also contributing to environmental efforts through recycling.
